Website design process
How long does it take to build a website? Two to four weeks.
A fixed sequence: one call, one short form, one draft to correct and one review. Here is what happens in each week, and how little of it is yours to do.
The website design process, week by week.
-
Day one
Kickoff
Your deposit holds the slot. We book a kickoff call to confirm the scope and agree a start date, then send one short form: about five minutes on your business, your logo and what the site has to do.
Your partTake the call and fill in the form.
-
Week one
Foundations and your copy
Accounts go up in your name: domain in your Cloudflare, code in your GitHub, CMS in your Sanity, and your Google Business Profile or Shopify store. From your form we write a first draft of every page, so you never start from a blank one.
Your partCorrect the draft and approve the direction. Most people spend about an hour.

Weeks one to two
Build
Every page built and wired: copy placed, CMS connected so you can edit anything, schema markup, meta and sitemap done as we go, not bolted on after. The files are kept in order and the code is commented, so any developer can pick it up later.
Your partNothing. This is the quiet part.
-
Weeks two to three
Review
You get a live preview link, not screenshots. Click through it on your phone, send notes, and we turn revisions around inside your tier allowance.
Your partClick through, tell us what to change.
-
Weeks three to four
Launch
DNS flips, the site goes live, Search Console is submitted and analytics starts counting. Your support window opens the same day: 30 days on Lite, 90 on Business and 120 on Plus, and 90 days on every online shop.
Your partTell people. The site does the rest.
Why it takes weeks, not months.
Most of the time a website build takes is spent waiting. Waiting for a quote to be agreed, for the owner to write the copy, for a decision nobody framed clearly, for a round of changes that grew into a second project.
This process removes the waits. The price is fixed before you start, so there is nothing to negotiate. We write the first draft of every page, so nobody is staring at a blank document. There is one approval and one review, inside a set number of revision rounds, on a build slot booked in advance.
And everything is yours.
Domain, hosting, code, CMS, Google accounts: all registered in your name from day one, with us added as a collaborator. Hosting and the CMS run on free tiers in your own accounts, so the only guaranteed bill after launch is your domain renewal, at cost. A shop adds its Shopify plan, paid to Shopify, never to us. Leave at month six and the site keeps working exactly as it did the day before. No ransom, no rebuild, no rent.
Every build runs to the same sequence, on a slot booked in advance. Rather talk it through before you buy? Book a 30 minute call (opens in a new tab) , no pitch. See the add-ons, or what a website costs if you are still working out the budget.
