What it costs

How much does a website cost?

Every other answer to this is a range and a shrug. Here are our actual prices, what you pay each month after launch, and what genuinely moves the number.

The short answer

A business website in the UK costs anywhere from nothing to six figures, which is why every guide gives you a band instead of a number. Ours are below. They are the real prices, they are the same for everyone, and they do not change after a call about your turnover.

Onlineify build prices, ex VAT
Build Price Pages Who it suits
Lite £1,950 Excl VAT 5 You want to be found and phoned. The site earns its keep by showing up in local search and looking like a business worth calling.
Business £3,950 Excl VAT 10 You want the site to bring in enquiries, not just exist. Forms that capture leads, deeper SEO, and two rounds to get it right.
Plus £5,250 Excl VAT 15 The site is a working part of the business - booking, tracking, follow-up email - and it needs to connect to the tools you already run on.

One fee, paid once. A £250 deposit holds your build slot and comes off the total rather than sitting on top of it. Settle the rest in full when we start, or split it in half, half then and half before launch. The total is the same either way.

What it costs per month

Nothing to us. There is no Onlineify subscription, and there is nothing to cancel because there was never anything to start.

That is not a special offer, it is how the site is built. Everything it runs on sits on a free tier, in an account registered to you. Here is the whole list, zeroes included, because the zeroes are the point:

What the site costs to run after launch
After launch Cost Why
Onlineify subscription None There is no such thing. We charge once, for the build.
Hosting Free Cloudflare Pages, on your own account. A static site fits inside the free tier and stays there.
Content system Free Sanity, on your own account. The free tier covers a business website comfortably.
SSL certificate Free Issued and renewed automatically. Some companies still bill for this.
Your domain At cost Renewed in your own name, at the registry price, with nothing added by us. This is the one bill you are guaranteed.

One honest caveat. If your build needs a paid third-party service, a booking system or an API with its own fee, that is a bill we do not control. We tell you what it is before you buy, not after.

What actually moves the price

How many pages

The single biggest factor, and the one most quotes hide. Each page is designed, written, wired to the content system and checked on a phone. Our tiers are drawn around page counts for exactly that reason.

Whether you sell online

A shop is a different job from a brochure site: products, stock, checkout, delivery rules, VAT and receipts. It is the one thing that reliably moves a build into the higher tiers.

Whether anything has to be moved

Bringing an existing site across, with its content and its search rankings intact, is work. It is a published add-on rather than a surprise on the invoice.

What has to talk to what

A booking system, a CRM, a till. One integration is included on Plus; beyond that they are priced individually, because they genuinely differ.

What it does not depend on

How big your company is, how much you appear to be able to afford, or how the call went. The price is published before we speak, which removes the whole category.

Why everyone else answers with a range

Usually in good faith. Most of those ranges are written by people whose model cannot produce a number, which is a different problem from hiding one.

Most web work is sold by the hour

If the scope is agreed after the contract, nobody can name a price before it. The range is honest; it is the model that makes a number impossible.

A quote is a negotiating position

When the figure arrives after a call about your turnover, it has been set with that call in mind. Two businesses asking for the same site get different numbers.

Recurring fees make the build look cheap

A low build price and a monthly fee bury most of the cost past the point you decide. Over three years the monthly is usually the larger half.

What the price does not buy

  • Never WordPress. Nothing to patch on a Tuesday, and no plugin to be breached through.
  • Never a template. The site is drawn for your business, not bought and recoloured.
  • Never rent. One build fee, and no Onlineify subscription sitting behind it.
  • Never a hidden price. Every figure is published before you ever speak to us.
  • Never a slow page. Static files on a global network, so it opens before somebody on a phone gives up.

Common questions

How much does a website cost in the UK?

Anywhere from nothing to six figures, which is why every guide gives you a range. What we charge is £1,950 to £5,250 depending on size, fixed before you order, with the scope written down. A £250 deposit holds your build slot and comes off the total.

How much does a website cost per month?

Nothing to us. There is no Onlineify subscription. Hosting and the content system both sit on free tiers in your own accounts, so once the site is live the only bill you are guaranteed is your domain renewal, at cost. If you want us to keep working on the site afterwards there are published plans, but they are optional and you can cancel them.

Why is your price fixed when everyone else quotes a range?

Because the scope is fixed too. We sell one product in three sizes rather than selling hours against a scope agreed later. That is the trade: you cannot have anything you like, and in exchange you know the number before you commit.

What are the ongoing costs after launch?

Your domain renewal, at cost, once a year. Hosting, the content system and the SSL certificate are all free on the tiers we use. If your build needs a paid third-party service, a booking system or an API with its own fee, that is a bill we do not control and we tell you about it before you buy.

Is a cheap website worth it?

A cheap site is worth it if it is genuinely yours and it loads fast. Most are neither: they sit on a template in somebody else’s account, and leaving means starting again. The cost that matters is not the build fee, it is what it takes to get out.

Can I move my existing website to you?

Yes. Migration is a published add-on starting at £250 for bringing content across without a redesign. Larger or more tangled sites are quoted before you commit to anything.

What happens if I want changes later?

You make them yourself. Every build ships with a content system you can edit, so text, images and prices are yours to change without asking anyone. For work beyond that, there is a published pay as you go rate, or a plan from £59 a month if you would rather we stayed on.

Rather see it working first? The local builds and stores are live sites you can click through, and the free audit scores the site you already have.
